Great drinks need serious snacks.

Inspiration Strikes!

Born in the pub

Back in 2009, two friends were sat in their favourite pub lamenting the lack of interesting snacks on offer. They decided something should be done about it. It was then on that very spot that they invented 'Snacking Salami', our first snack.

Tastings, sniffings...

Experimentation

Our team grew and so did our snack range. We developed a much loved but short-lived snack called 'Snackling', which was pieces of pork crackling and dried apple together in a bag. People were mad for it, but it was too blimmin' difficult to make and so the search for the Next Big Thing continued.

ALL GROWN UP

With our snacks now in Sainsbury's and Tesco, we'd sort of, almost, made it. Time for some soul searching: what's it all about? Well, pub snacks was never going to be about private jets, immense power and personal wealth - if it was, we'd have picked a different line of work. We just want a nice life with good snacks in the mix. So we became a certified B Corp, which writes that into the company's legal framework. We're now legally required to weigh up our impact on people and the planet, not just profit. Even if some massive multinational swooped in and bought Serious Pig, being A Nice Company isn't optional. It's in the rules.

Pub comes to you

Pub In The Post

We started pairing our growing snack range with favourite beers and posting them to Club Seriously members to get them through lockdown. We called it Pub in the Post. They've since become a massive success in their own right as gifts.

We struck gold!

The Breakthrough

We discovered that you can bake cheese, turning it into a crunchy snack that you can carry around in your pocket. At the time our founder George could be found wandering around Peckham, punching the air, telling anyone he bumped into that he'd 'struck crunchy gold'.

If we're honest, most of our snacks weren't our idea. Pickles, olives, potato crisps, even baked cheese - these are simple ideas that have been around for hundreds of years. So rather than mess with the formula, we just make them with superior ingredients. That's the magic.

How we grow sustainably

Our B Corp Mission

We've written our commitment to people and planet into the rules that govern Serious Pig. These are legal obligations we've voluntarily signed ourselves up for.

1. Small Acts For A Big Impact

We're not going to save the world with pub snacks. But we can run a snack company properly, and it turns out lots of small acts add up. In 2025 we became a certified B Corp with a score of 84 - above the 80 needed to certify. We've written our commitments to people and planet into the company's founding documents, so they're legal obligations, not marketing. And because 90 has a nicer ring to it than 84, that's our target for recertification. This page is the honest version of how we're getting on: the progress, and the bits we haven't cracked yet.

2. Supporting Communities

Since 2024 we've partnered with City Harvest, a charity fighting food poverty in London, and pledged a percentage of our revenue to them every year. In 2025 that funded 24,800 free meals for hungry Londoners - up from over 10,000 in our first year. Surplus stock goes to them too, rather than in the bin, which keeps our food waste at close to zero. It's a simple arrangement: we sell snacks, more people get fed. We plan to keep it that way.

3. Responsible Alcohol Sales

Some of our gift boxes contain beer, and we take that seriously. Every alcohol order requires age verification before it reaches the customer, and we only sell to those legally old enough to enjoy it. Our snacks are designed to be savoured alongside a drink, not to encourage drinking more of them - a good beer and a good snack is about quality, not quantity.

4. Our Impact Report

Every year we publish an Impact Report - a warts-and-all account of how we're doing against our B Corp commitments. The 2025 edition covers 4.8 tonnes of plastic kept out of landfill, 24,800 meals funded with City Harvest, and the honest admission that our hero product, Snacking Cheese, still isn't in recyclable packaging (we're working on it).

5. The 2030 Packaging Pledge

Snack packaging is mostly landfill in waiting, and we're not okay with that. So we've pledged that all Serious Pig packaging will be recyclable at home by 2030. We're making real progress: in 2025 we moved Snacking Pickles into kerbside-recyclable material, taking our recyclable packaging from 24.9% to 44.3% in a single year and keeping up to 4.8 tonnes of plastic out of landfill (assuming you all do your bit and recycle - no pressure). Next up is the big one: Snacking Cheese, which means overhauling packing machinery, not just swapping film. Nobody said it would be quick.

6. Our Commitment to Animal Welfare

The pork in our charcuterie comes from outdoor-reared British pigs, raised on selected farms in Kent by people who care how it's done. Higher-welfare farming costs more and we think it's worth every penny - happier pigs, better meat, better snacks. Our Snackingham and Snackalami are then made by hand by our charcuterier in Essex, using traditional methods rather than industrial shortcuts.
